Davos Klosters Bergbahnen is a pioneer of climate action

Artificial snow production, piste preparation and ski lifts: time and again, criticism is voiced that mountain railways have too great an impact on nature and aren’t sustainable. However, pioneers like Davos Klosters Bergbahnen are proving the opposite. Read on to find out how.

For years, Davos Klosters Bergbahnen AG has been committed to more efficient, more sustainable development – be it in construction projects, in daily work, in artificial snow production, or in its own hotel and restaurant operations. It does this in order to take responsibility and set a good example in the Davos Klosters region. All measures taken by Davos Klosters Bergbahnen pursue a common goal: sustainable mountain tourism and more efficient corporate management. Step by step, Davos Klosters Bergbahnen has continuously realised projects with a focus on energy efficiency, energy production and the environment in recent years.

Solar panels on the Jakobshorn mountain

With numerous PV systems on buildings in the valley, Davos Klosters Bergbahnen has been relying on green electricity for many years. Existing buildings on the mountain are now being made use of: since the winter of 2022, two new photovoltaic systems have been producing renewable energy on the Jakobshorn. An additional 50 solar panels have also been installed at the Jschalp halfway station.
