In order for teams, organisations and interest groups to receive a donation from the events fund, they need to provide a written request by 30th March for the Summer and by 30th September for the Winter.Donations can be made in the form of deficit guarantees or goodwill payments .If individuals or groups are not organised, they will generally not receive a donation. The Davos Klosters Marketing Strategy (Summary)

Davos Klosters is a strong yet compact tourist destination in the alpine canton of Grisons, south-east Switzerland, with very good links to the North (N13 to Zürich Airport). The Davos Resort Organisation (DRO) aspires to the economic success of the region, the preservation and development of added value and employment, along with a high quality of life for guests and locals all year round.

This aim is at the forefront of the marketing strategy and, along with the charter of the Davos Resort Organisation (Cooperation), it forms the foundation of the strategic orientation of the Davos Klosters Resort. The marketing strategy aims to influence the thoughts and actions of tourist funding agencies, and encourage them to act together to generate and adopt the same approaches and raise the profile of the resort’s brand.

Strategy & Aims - what does Davos Klosters stand for?

Both "subdivisions", Davos and Klosters are committed to information and undertakings for various contents:Davos for large-scale touristic provision and congresses in Summer and Winter, and Klosters as a kind of fine boutique for leisure connoisseurs.Davos Klosters has the whole range of leisure, sport and congress provision in the mountains within 1 and a half to 2 hours of Zürich. The Davos Klosters resort brand (as the combination of the two words) represents "global meetings & a royal playground in alpine Switzerland".

Position - what makes Davos Klosters unique?
  • The (most diverse) sports destination of the Alps
  • The combination of global top tourism and attractive core business
  • 10 months a year in the highest city in the Alps - is globally unique.
  • Only Davos Klosters has been offering a global summit for current and notable political, scientific and cultural leaders for decades at 1,560 above sea level, while also serving as the traditional holiday destination of choice for royal families (Klosters, 1,200 above sea level) with the corresponding level of worldwide publicity.
  • With popular top events such as the Spengler Cup, the Swiss Alpine Marathon in Davos and Davos Nordic, Davos Klosters has secured middle-class purchasing power and therefore ‘volume business’ for the 2-4 star accommodation and holiday homes.
  • Davos Klosters was and still is home to internationally known and interesting cultural professionals. The Kirchner Museum in Davos and numerous cultural events consolidate Davos Klosters’ connection with culture.

Here you can find statistics and data about the touristic development of Davos Klosters. The statistics were collected and collated by the Davos Resort Organisation (Cooperative). Part of the data goes back to the 1943.

In recent years, alpine holiday destinations have been facing more and more shorter stays and growing competition from city breaks and coastal holidays. An integral part of this is surely the huge reduction in flight costs. Davos Klosters is facing this challenge had-on with campaigns such as "Davos Inclusive" and attractive packages , along with many further measures.Strategically, building a destination with Klosters is one of the most important of these measures. This enables the Davos Klosters Resort to offer its guests an even better, more comfortable and more convenient experience as a "whole company".
