On Mill Day, the old Walser mill, powered by a water wheel, is used for grinding, while a cheerful celebration is held in the garden of the local history museum, with schoolchildren singing songs. At the same time, the exhibition "At the foot of the magic mountain - everyday life in Davos around 1924" is opened. 100 years after the publication of Thomas Mann's great novel "The Magic Mountain", a special exhibition will open until April 2025. It shows how the local population experienced the period of tuberculosis cures in Davos between the two world wars, both in the countryside and in the flourishing town of Davos. The festival restaurant opens at 11:30 a.m. with delicacies from the wood-fired oven. In the background, the old Walser mill rattles and grinds the corn filled in by the miller into delicious bramata. In front of the mill, a quern and a stone slab invite you to try your hand at the laborious business of milling.
