Tip: Springtime is ski touring time

While the season on the pistes is slowly drawing to a close, it's just getting started for ski tourers. The side valleys serve as starting points for unforgettable touring days.

Put your skis away in April? Not at all. The high season for ski tourers has begun. No matter which route you choose: Take your ski tour with a local mountain guide. Because nobody knows the area, the nature and the current snow conditions as well as they do. Tip: Guided day ski tours for guests and locals take place every day.  Spontaneous registration for the next day is possible until 4 pm.

Tour tips for beginners
A tour to the Baslersch Chopf or the Sentischhorn is ideal for beginners. A tour over the Winterlücke towards Jöriseen is more challenging. You will need four to five hours for the ascent. You will then be rewarded with two racy descents. A tour to the Ducan glacier is a step up from this. This tour is considered technically demanding, but offers a unique landscape with views towards the Kesch region. In good conditions, you can even ski down to Stuls near Bergün.

Ski tours lasting several days
The Grialetsch Hut SAC is still open until Sunday, 14 April. It was extensively renovated and extended in 2021. Here you can experience hut life as it couldn't be better: with a cold Grisons platter, no mobile phone reception, a beer and evening sun on the terrace. This SAC hut is the ideal starting point for a two-day high-altitude ski tour, for example up to Piz Grialetsch at 3131 metres above sea level. Fancy a foretaste?
