winter season 2024/25 on the Jakobshorn
The Jakobshorn is expected to start weekend operations from November 30 to December 1. Continuous winter operations will be from December 6, 2024 to April 21, 2025.
From coffee sex to the freestyle scene to pioneering sporting achievements: the Jakobshorn in Davos has often made history. Anyone looking for lifestyle, action and a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains will feel at home here.
The Jakobshorn in Davos has always been a little different from other mountains in the Alps. No wonder: the world's first T-bar ski lift was already running on the Bolgen in 1934 - making Davos a pioneer in winter sports. The freestyle scene has been at home here since the 1980s. Back then, the Jakobshorn was the only mountain where snowboarders were allowed to use the lifts. Today, the Jakobshorn is known for its 55 km of slopes from blue to black, après-ski parties and crazy events like the Red Bull Homerun. In short: a mountain where life is celebrated to the fullest.
Speaking of partying: Do you know the full moon parties, the cult drink Kafi Sex or the whirlpool at 2560 meters above sea level? If not, visit the Jatzhütte. With its après-ski parties, it is one of the most famous ski huts in Europe. Every weekend in the winter season, people party up here like there's no tomorrow. Davos has established a special time for this. If you drop by at 2:33 p.m., you know what to expect. Everyone meets at the Jatzhütte to party, from craftsmen to bankers to students - everyone looks the same in ski clothes anyway. High flirt factor.
Before the party starts, the JatzPark with its 20 elements such as kickers and rails encourages freestylers to reach new heights. You can find even more freestyle action in the valley in the Superpipe at Bolgen. There is also a 15 x 15 meter air bag for beginners to help you make your first jump attempts as smooth as butter.
In summer, the Jakobshorn is not tired at all. Quite the opposite. Hikers swear by the ridge hike from the Jakobshorn over to the Jatzhorn and down into the Sertigtal. Mountain bikers shred in the footsteps of Scottish bike star Danny MacAskill on the Alps Epic Trail Davos from the Jakobshorn over the Rinerhorn down to Filisur. Trail runners appreciate the sporting challenge of the Vertical. That's 1000 meters of altitude from the Bolgen Plaza up to the summit. And paragliders find good flying conditions here all year round with easy landing sites and cable cars that transport pilots and tandem passengers to the high alpine take-off points.
Families also spend a relaxing time at the foot of the Jakobshorn. The beginners' slope at the Carjöl two-seater chairlift is ideal for those who want to try out gliding on the snow for the first time. The slope at the Bolgen ski lift can be easily seen from the restaurant. While children discover the fascination of skiing in the ski school or on the new kids' slope, parents and grandparents relax while sunbathing in one of the beach chairs.
