Snowfarming 2024

The snowfarming season starts next winter on 1 November 2024.

Snowfarming for early cross-country skiing trail

What started as an experiment over ten years ago has developed into a success story: snow farming in Davos. Thanks to over-summer snow, a four-kilometre cross-country ski trail is already being created at the end of October, which is appreciated by athletes and amateurs alike.

On 1 November 2024, the 20,000 cubic metre pile of snow covered with sawdust will be transformed into a four kilometre long cross-country ski trail. No wonder: Davos is one of the pioneers in snow farming. By covering it, about 70 to 80 percent of the snow volume is preserved. This guarantees an early start to the cross-country skiing season regardless of the temperatures in autumn.

Early training opportunity for athletes and amateurs

In addition to the Swiss cross-country skiing cracks, national teams from over 12 nations train on the Snowfarming trail in Davos. No wonder, the track with its ascents and descents is exactly what top cross-country skiers are looking for just before the start of the season.

Special time slots for different ability groups

To ensure that both top athletes and amateurs can train satisfactorily on the trail, there are times of use with time windows for all performance groups. We ask you to observe these. Teams and private individuals can use the snowfarming trail. Athletes who wish to train competitively during the defined time windows must register online in advance.
