In order to continue to guarantee a first-class range of cross-country ski trails, the municipalities of Davos and Klosters are planning significant investment over the next few years. These include the expansion of snow farming for an early start to the season, technical snowmaking and new lighting for the night trails. For this reason, fees are being introduced for the use of the cross-country ski trails in the Davos Klosters destination from the 2024/25 winter season. Further information on the new cross-country ski trail pass will be available from mid-September 2024.
The world's cross-country skiing elite line up at the start of Davos Nordic every year; professional skiers are also on the trails here outside of the FIS competition. As Davos is one of the first winter sports resorts in Switzerland to start the season, athletes train in Davos Klosters in preparation for the season, thanks to snow farming.
The trails can be used free of charge by athletes and coaches of the Swiss national teams in cross-country skiing, biathlon and Nordic combined, from squad A to C. They are also free for foreign national teams, for A squad teams and athletes of the second highest level. There is, however, one exception: weekly or daily tickets must be purchased for the snowfarming trail.
Cross-country skiing is free for children and young people up to their 16th birthday (with or without a guest card).
Those who live in Davos or Klosters can use the cross-country ski trails free of charge until their 18th birthday.
Pupils of the Davos Sports High School, the Swiss Alpine Secondary School, EMS Schiers and vocational trainees living in Davos or Klosters can use the cross-country ski trails free of charge.
