Early start to the season

What began as an experiment over 15 years ago has developed into a success story: snow farming in Davos, on the Flüela Pass road. Thanks to snow that has accumulated over the summer, a four-kilometer-long cross-country ski trail is already created by the end of October, which is appreciated by athletes and amateurs alike.

On October 31, 2025, the 20,000 cubic meter snow pile, covered with sawdust, will once again be transformed into a four-kilometer cross-country ski trail. No wonder: Davos is a pioneer in snow farming. Covering the snow preserves approximately 70 to 80 percent of its volume, guaranteeing an early start to the cross-country skiing season regardless of autumn temperatures. The snow farm is located a few meters further up Flüelastrasse, past Färichpark.

Early training opportunity for everybody

In addition to the Swiss cross-country skiing pros, national teams from over 12 nations train on the snow farming trail in Davos. No wonder, the trail with its climbs and descents is exactly what top cross-country skiers are looking for shortly before the start of the season.

Time slots for various performance groups

To ensure that both top athletes and amateurs can train satisfactorily on the trail, there are usage times with time slots for all performance groups. We ask that you please observe these. Teams and private individuals can use the snow farming trail. Athletes who want to train competitively during the defined time slots must register online in advance.
