Tom Oehler, “Red Bull” athlete and two-time world record holder, is a bike ambassador for the destination Davos Klosters. In the bike film “Bike Hard”, he shows how playfully you can hammer single trails with the right riding technique.
"Hey Tom, are you ready for 700 kilometers of single trails? Well then, yippee-ya-yay, pig-cheek!" booms a well-known Hollywood voice from the loudspeakers at the beginning of the film "Bike Hard". Challenge accepted. In the next three minutes, Tom Oehler shows off all his skills on the bike: wheelies and manuals on a blocked trail without losing flow, a fast bunny hop over the trail gate or brave jumps over rocks. Later in the film, Tom Oehler even presents the Trail Crew Davos with an unexpected shortcut. Whatever the case, one thing is clear: the single trails in Davos Klosters have probably never been ridden so playfully.
The film title is an allusion to the Hollywood blockbuster series "Die Hard", which became known in English under the title "Die Hard". And this with the same voice as in the cult film. The voice belongs to Manfred Lehmann. The German voice actor has already dubbed numerous film stars, including Bruce Willis, Gérard Depardieu and Kurt Russell.
But it's not just the voice that sounds familiar: If you look closely, you'll also recognize top local athletes from Davos Klosters in supporting roles in "Bike Hard". For example, Tom Oehler meets downhill skiing world champion Jasmine Flury on the way and elegantly opens a bottle of Davos "Craft Beer" for her as he rides past with his back wheel. And on a climb, trail runner Jasmin Nunigepushes Tom Oehler part of the way up the mountain. True to the claim "Sports Unlimited" of the Davos Klosters destination.
Tom Oehler, along with professional mountain biker Sina Frei, is a bike ambassador for the Davos Klosters destination. In 2024, he set a summit world record on an e-bike in Davos. Within just 14 hours, the Austrian climbed 15 mountain peaks around Pischa, Parsenn, and the Jakobshorn on his e-mountain bike. In addition to several international titles, he has two more world records to his name. In 2009, he set the high jump world record on a bike at 2,895 meters. In 2013, Tom Oehler was crowned the fastest trial biker in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 44.62 seconds, beating Olympic champion Felix Sanchez from the Dominican Republic. And that's not all: In a winter reel, he demonstrated that you can also bike on snow on Pischa, including a dizzying ridge descent. One thing is certain: Tom Oehler is always good for a surprise.
