Beim «Researchers Beer» im Foyer des Kulturplatzes Davos treffen sich am ersten Dienstag des Monats um 18:30 Uhr Wissenschaftlerinnen, Wissenschaftler und Wissensdurstige, um sich auszutauschen und kennenzulernen. Special Guest Am 1. September 2026 widmet sich das Researchers Beer dem Thema der Aerosole und ihrer Wirkung auf das Klima. Special Guest ist Dr. Sandro Vattioni, Atmosphären-Chemiker und Klimawissenschaftler am Physikalisch- Meteorologischen Observatorium Davos PMOD/WRC. Im Gespräch mit Barbara Haller Rupf spricht Sandro Vattioni über seine Forschung zu stratosphärischen Aerosolen, den Umweltauswirkungen des aufkommenden Weltraumzeitalters und das Potenzial der Sonnenstrahlenreflexion zur Abschwächung der Folgen des Klimawandels. Zudem spricht er über seinen persönlichen Werdegang, die Finanzierung wissenschaftlicher Projekte durch Drittmittel sowie die Betreuung und Förderung von Studierenden. Der Anlass findet auf Englisch statt. On the first Tuesday of the month at 18:30, scientists and anyone with a thirst for knowledge meet at the “Researchers Beer” in the foyer of the Kulturplatz Davos to socialize and exchange ideas. Special Guest on September 1, 2026, Researchers Beer will focus on the topic of aerosols and their impact on the climate. Our special guest is Dr. Sandro Vattioni, an atmospheric chemist and climate scientist from the Davos Physical-Meteorological Observatory (PMOD / WRC). In conversation with Barbara Haller Rupf, Sandro Vattioni discusses his research on stratospheric aerosols, the environmental impacts of the emerging space age, and the potential of solar radiation reflection to mitigate the effects of climate change. He also talks about his career path, the funding of scientific projects through third-party grants, and the supervision and development of students. The event will be held in English.
