On Thursday, the Davos Klosters mountain railways opened the winter season in the Parsenn ski area. Around 10,000 guests were recorded up to and including Sunday. In addition to the first kilometres of groomed pistes, the mountain restaurants were also ready for the start and were very popular. ‘The timely snowfall and the beautiful winter weather at the weekend gave us an excellent start,’ says Sergio Michel, Head of Communications at Bergbahnen Davos Klosters.
Trails are open
Guests and locals also got their money's worth in the valley: following the opening of the snowfarming trail at the beginning of November, around ten kilometres of trails have been added since Saturday. Further trails will be added depending on the weather and snow conditions. The cross-country ski trail report will be updated regularly from now on. The cross-country ski trails in Davos Klosters are now subject to a charge. Daily and weekly tickets as well as season cross-country ski passes (from CHF 70) for adults are available online in the destination's holiday shop. Overnight guests benefit from discounted prices. Children and young people up to the age of 16 can use the cross-country ski trails free of charge. The Swiss cross-country ski pass is also valid in Davos and Klosters. Those who enjoy walking can look forward to snow-covered landscapes and cleared paths: some of the 160 kilometres of winter hiking trails are now open.
More lifts and slopes follow
More mountain lifts are already starting the season this week: due to the good weather, the Jakobshorn will start the winter season on Friday 29 November 2024 with weekend operations (Fri-Sun). However, due to the high temperatures, the feeder lift via Gotschna/Klosters to the Parsenn ski area will not open until a week later, probably on Friday, 6 December 2024.
