Holiday time for connoisseurs: Those who come to Davos Klosters in September and October will experience the region in all its autumnal serenity. The side valleys, in particular, invite you to relaxed excursions and leisurely hikes with their tranquility and splendor of color. Alternatively, you can take the cable cars up high well into October.
The Davos Klosters destination has compiled more than a dozen tips for autumn in the mountains. Here are our six highlights:
Pleasant hikes in the Dischma Valley
The gently ascending path leads along the Dischmabach stream deep into the valley, combining peace, nature, and views. At the end of the valley, the Dürrboden mountain inn invites you to a cozy stop. Those who want can even stay longer and sleep in the straw.
E-biking in the Vereina Valley
From Klosters, the route leads through the wild and romantic Vereina Valley. At 1,944 meters above sea level, the Vereina mountain inn invites you to stop for a break. Perfect for combining exercise with enjoyment—and whizzing back down with a delicious cake in your stomach.
Journey through time to the Landwasser Viaduct
A ride on the vintage train through the colorful landscape combines history and the autumnal atmosphere. The Landwasser Viaduct offers impressive views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Carriage ride to Alp Novai
A two-horsepower journey through the autumnal landscape around Klosters. Overnight guests can book this excursion at a special price as part of the Davos Klosters Guest Program. Tip: Afterwards, enjoy game specialties at the Höhwald Restaurant in Monbiel.
Ridge walk on the Jakobshorn
From the Jakobshorn mountain station, a scenic ridge path leads across open expanses. The view stretches from the colorful forests in the valley to the peaks already dusted with snow. The cable cars are in operation well into October.
Hut break at 2,352 meters above sea level
The mountain inn on the Strela Pass remains open until the end of autumn. Those who stop here can enjoy the rustic atmosphere while outside, wisps of fog drift over the slopes. Particularly recommended: the homemade Chäschnöpfli.
