Davos Ski by Elan

At this year’s ISPO Shanghai, two iconic alpine brands — Destination Davos Klosters and Elan — officially unveiled the “Davos Ski by Elan”, a collaboration that celebrates winter sports heritage and pays homage to the birthplace of skiing: China.

The unveiling ceremony at ISPO Shanghai was attended by leading figures from the global ski industry, including Albert Kruker, CEO of Destination Davos Klosters, Melanja Korošec, Senior Vice President of KJK Sports and Head of Strategy at Elan, and Alice Liang, Founder and CEO of Beijing Snow Elan.

Inspired by history - built for the future
The collaboration began with an idea: to create a ski that would inspire people to discover Davos – known in China primarily through the World Economic Forum. The "Davos Ski by Elan" connects the world-famous ski resort in the Swiss Alps with the roots of skiing, which date back over 10,000 years to China. "We are selling more than just a high-quality ski. We are making people in China dream of skiing in the Alps," said Kruker.

A cross-continental celebration of ski culture
Davos found the ideal partner for this ambitious project in Elan. Elan, based in the Slovenian Alps, looks back on 80 years of craftsmanship and innovation – including the invention of the carving ski and the world's first foldable ski. "From the very beginning, we knew we shared values, vision, and passion," says Melanja Korošec. "Elan's mission is to develop the best ski equipment for lifelong skiing experiences – and that's exactly what the 'Davos Ski by Elan' embodies."

The Davos Ski – where innovation meets symbolism
The "Davos Ski by Elan" is based on Elan's revolutionary Voyager model – a foldable, high-performance ski that is ideal for travel and delivers top performance. Symbolizing the connection between continents, the ski was unveiled live on the ISPO stage and ceremoniously handed over to Alice Liang, who will lead the market launch in China. Liang, a pioneer in the Chinese ski industry for over 20 years, is enthusiastic about the partnership: "This project combines Chinese heritage with alpine innovation. It is a significant step for the winter sports community in China."
