Alpine Tech Summit

Today, Wednesday, representatives from the Davos Klosters region as well as from technology and research signed the joint declaration to hold a new conference: The 'Alpine Tech Summit' focuses on the topic of artificial intelligence and its practical implementation.

The impressive backdrop of the Alps combined with visionary technology: The 'Alpine Tech Summit' in Davos is intended to create a unique platform for innovation, exchange and collaboration. The aim is to establish an annual conference in Davos from 2026 that focuses on new technologies and artificial intelligence and thus strengthens the business and tourism location. "With the motivated local partners, the existing conference opportunities and the reputation through the WEF, Davos is in the best starting position for this," explains Albert Kruker, Director of Destination Davos Klosters.

Strengthening Switzerland as an AI location
As part of the presentation of the Global Swiss AI Award in the town hall of the municipality of Davos, representatives from Davos and from technology and research signed the declaration for the implementation of the 'Alpine Tech Summit'. "The forum is intended to further strengthen Switzerland's position as a pioneer in artificial intelligence (AI) research and at the same time strengthen Davos and Graubünden as an AI hub," says Nadja Fleischli, Head of Regional Development Prättigau/Davos. The multi-day event focuses on current AI topics. The program includes topics such as humanoid robotics, health, mobility, tourism and the associated challenges such as data protection or ethical and legal issues.

Relief during the WEF
Davos, known as one of the world's leading congress destinations, offers the ideal environment for setting up an independent tech forum. Numerous WEF partners and other institutions are already organizing technology events parallel to the WEF, says Davos Governor Valérie Favre Accola. "Against this background, the initiators of the 'Alpine Tech Summit' see a great opportunity to establish a dedicated technology forum to relieve the burden on the village during the WEF."

Pilot event on 10/11. June 2025
In order to start the project in 2025 and to gain experience with technology events, Lab42, based in Davos, is organizing the 'World Humanoid Forum'. "We want to use the current momentum in the field of robotics and the great interest of our partners to start with this pilot congress," says Pascal Kaufmann from Mindfire. Well-known business partners have already been won over for the 2025 event.
