Destination Davos Klosters (DDO) has appointed Thomas Knecht as Head of Marketing and Communications. "With Thomas Knecht, we have found a highly authentic and exceptionally qualified professional who will give our brand and our destination new impetus," said DDO Chairman of the Board Reto Branschi regarding the appointment. Knecht was selected from over 100 applicants by the new DDO CEO Björn Caviezel, an external recruitment consultancy, and Reto Branschi.
Thomas Knecht (47) studied Business Administration (specializing in Marketing) as well as Media Studies and Tourism at the University of Bern and completed advanced training in Leadership at IMD Lausanne. Since 2021, he has been responsible for the launch and development of the new mountain bike brand SCOR at the Swiss bicycle manufacturer BMC and simultaneously served as Co-Head of Marketing for the BMC brand. Previously, he headed marketing at the Swiss e-bike pioneer FLYER. Previous positions in his career included leading a growth initiative for SMEs and startups at the Swiss Economic Forum and heading marketing and product management at the Swiss wax manufacturer Toko.

An active mountain biker, Thomas Knecht competed in races up to the World Cup level and remains a passionate outdoor sports enthusiast. He is moving to Davos with his wife, who is from the Prättigau region, and their two children, and will assume his new role on May 4, 2026.
