"Davos has set an ambitious goal of net zero by 2030," says Reto Branschi, CEO/Director of Davos Destinations Organisation. "But we are doing this because we know that a world-renowned tourism and congress destination like Davos in particular has a role model function," he adds. The initiative's primary goal is to promote as many projects as possible each year that contribute to reducing emissions. To achieve this, the destination organisation, together with the municipality of Davos and the "myclimate" foundation, has created the "myclimate climate fund Davos". The programme enables participating businesses to generate additional revenue.
It pays to join in
Climate protection has long been a decisive factor for travellers planning their vacations. With the "Davos 2030" project and the integrated "myclimate climate fund Davos", you and your business have the opportunity to make an effective contribution to climate protection. The project is based on the "Cause We Care" model. Guests make a voluntary carbon offset contribution when they stay in a hotel or store. 35 percent of this contribution can be used for measures in the company’s own business. 15 percent flows into the "myclimate climate fund Davos", which serves as a supplementary support instrument onsite in Davos. In concrete terms, half of the guest contribution is used for ecological measures onsite and in the businesses. The other half of the guest contribution flows into climate protection projects of the Swiss foundation "myclimate", including - among others - the project "climate-optimised forest management Canton Grisons and Davos". The guests thus take responsibility for the emitted unavoidable CO2 emissions of their stay.
After an introductory meeting, the first step is a rough analysis of the current status and a definition of the services that are to include a voluntary carbon offset contribution in the future. The "myclimate" foundation provides active support in the second step: for example, in the creation of guest communications and campaign funds. The employees of the participants are also trained by "myclimate".

The Davos Destination organisation takes over the task as the office. It thus acts as a contact and information point for the concerns of the "myclimate climate fund Davos", as well as for participants and the media. Among other tasks, it takes over the information and coordination of the participating companies. It also monitors the implementation of measures in the companies.
