New family attraction at Strela Alp

Published : 16. June 2026

Above Davos, a new family experience awaits this summer. The new marble run at Strela Alp invites you to follow the playful journey of the marble, overcome obstacles, and add a fun touch to your family excursion.

Anyone who has ever witnessed children's rapt attention as they watch a rolling wooden ball knows that it's often the simplest things that spark the most exciting adventures. The new marble run at Strela Alp offers precisely this experience. Since mid-May, it has been providing fun and games amidst the Davos mountain landscape, adding another attraction to the family offerings around Schatzalp.

What's particularly wonderful is that the marble run isn't the result of a large construction project, but rather a great deal of personal and private dedication. Hosts Nicole and Jann planned and built the track themselves, together with their godchild, brother, and parents. The result is a lovingly crafted family project that they hope will bring just as much joy to other families.

Good to know about the marble run

Using the marble run is free. All you need is a wooden ball with a diameter of 4.5 centimeters, which is available for 3 Swiss francs at the Strela Alp restaurant. Conveniently, the balls are the same size as those used in the marble run on Madrisa and can therefore be used on both tracks.

The marble run is expected to be in operation until October 25th. During the summer season, it can also be used on the restaurant's days off – provided you bring your own marble. New marbles cannot be purchased on the restaurant's days off.

So, if you're visiting the Strela Alp this summer, be sure to pack a marble – or buy one there – and send it on a playful journey.
