New York has its famous ice rinks at Rockefeller Center and in Central Park – in Davos, the "Ice Dream" opens on December 6th at the sports stadium. On Switzerland's largest mobile artificial ice rink, you can ice skate, play curling, hockey, or speed skate. The ice hockey rink is surrounded by an ice track where speed skaters do their laps in the evenings. For a cozier atmosphere, you can stop by the "Chalet Ice Stock" and warm your cold fingers with mulled wine. Every Friday, the large fire pit is lit, and raclette is served inside. The "Ice Dream" is expected to remain open until March 1, 2026.
Icelandic horses tölt across the ice
On February 21, 2026, the "Ice Dream" becomes a meeting place for horse lovers: The Icelandic horse tournament "Fire & Ice Davos" will take place for the seventh time. These robust animals with their thick coats cope perfectly with winter temperatures. For Icelanders, riding on ice and snow is second nature – during races, their horses wear special ice nails and studs on their horseshoes, which act like spikes. A visit is well worth it: watching the Icelandic horses tölt is a spectacular experience.
Ice Mini Golf for Families
You don't need skates or spikes for ice mini golf. An 18-hole course is available all winter long in the arcaded square in Davos. It's played with an ice hockey stick and puck – according to the same rules as in summer. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Seehofseeli Davos
Depending on the temperature, the Seehofseeli lake in Davos is also open for ice skating – a particularly idyllic natural ice skating experience right in the heart of town.
