Five Facts from Ten Years of Cover Festival

The first Davos Cover Festival took place in 2015. With its unique mix of world hits and the most beautiful mountain backdrop, the music event has become a permanent fixture in the Davos Klosters event calendar. But how did it all start and what makes the event so special? An overview in numbers.

The other acts are so-called tribute bands that are dedicated to imitating certain artists - Abba, Nirvana or Tina Turner, for example. John Diva, on the other hand, plays a mix of well-known rock classics with his group. This year, twice. "Night Fever - A Tribute to the Bee Gees" have performed at the Davos Cover Festival.

OC President Yves Bugmann made a virtue out of necessity: "Since most of the well-known original bands no longer exist, the idea of organizing a cover festival arose during a visit to a tribute concert in England. The first event was a success and a fan community quickly formed."

This year, the opening event will take place in the Congress Center, where the Beatles tribute band "The Beatbox" will invite you on a journey back in time to the 1960s. So that everyone can toast the ten-year anniversary of the cover festival together, a glass of champagne is included with every ticket.

8 bands took the microphone at the first Davos Cover Festival. Today there are 13. A total of 23 concerts will be played this year - from large outdoor shows at the Parsennhütte to dignified dinner shows with four-course menus and small but fine gigs in the legendary Bolgenschanze.

5,000 spectators attended the concert by Michael Jackson impersonator Sergio Cortés in the Bolgen Plaza in 2023. It is the best-attended concert of the festival so far. Will the Rammstein tribute band "by Stahlzeit" break the record in 2025?
