Bus already runs to the Dischmatal on Ascension Day and Whitsun

Published : 28. May 2025

Because most of the snow has already melted, the Davos public transport company is offering a bus service from Davos Dorf train station to Dürrboden over Ascension Day and Whitsun. Regular service of bus line 312 to the Dischma Valley will begin on June 14.

In winter, the Dischmastrasse remains closed from the Gluringen parking lot onwards. This year, due to the early snowmelt and clearing work by the municipality, the road was reopened in mid-April. Meanwhile, the snow in the upper Dischma Valley has largely melted, and spring-like walks and hikes are already possible. Therefore, the Davos Public Transport Authority (VBD) is offering a bus service to the Dischma Valley ahead of regular service on June 14. On the two long weekends (May 29 to June 1, 2025 and June 7 to 9, 2025), the Dürrboden bus (line 312) will operate according to the following timetable:

From Davos Dorf train station to Dürrboden
• 10:15 a.m.
• 12:15 p.m.
• 1:30 p.m.

From Dürrboden to Davos Dorf train station
• 11:00 a.m.
• 12:50 p.m.
• 2:10 p.m.

Standard fares apply. The Davos Pass, GA travelcard, and Half-Fare travelcard are valid. Further information is available from the Davos VBD public transport authority.

Excursion tip
The Berggasthaus Dürrboden opens its doors on May 29th and is open daily throughout the summer. It is located right next to the final stop and invites you to relax on the sun terrace. From there, various tours over passes and to SAC huts (Kesch or Giraletsch) can be undertaken. Since there is often still snow at higher altitudes, we recommend a leisurely hike via the St. James Way of Graubünden back to Davos Dorf. The 12-kilometer-long Dischma Valley is Davos' longest side valley. The gently sloping trail leads along the Dischmabach stream, past typical Walser houses, for a hike lasting approximately 3.5 hours. This excursion is a relaxing start to the hiking season.
