Art Garden Hotels – Art meets nature in Davos

This summer, things will get creative on the Schatzalp: The Art Garden Hotels bring together art, nature, and encounters – right in the heart of the Davos mountains. Between historic walls, blooming gardens, and mountain panoramas, works of art are being created to marvel at, participate in, and discuss.
At Schatzalp, art comes alive – nestled amidst historic hotel architecture, landscaped gardens, and the Davos mountains. The seven artworks are spread throughout the grounds of the traditional hotel, part of the Art Garden Hotels group. On display are works by Max Roth, Kurt Laurenz Metzler, and an interactive, collaborative project by the artist collective PIALETO. In addition, there are events, opportunities to meet the artists, and formats where you don't just observe, but become an active participant. "A visit to Schatzalp is particularly worthwhile at this time of year because art here isn't confined to a museum, but can be experienced right in the heart of the hotel garden," says Luca Norato, co-initiator of the project.
Collaborative Project: Become Part of an Artwork
The highlight of the summer: a giant, walk-in illuminated sculpture in the shape of a cat. Together with the artist collective PIALETO, a cat measuring approximately 4 x 7 meters is being created from wooden slats directly in front of the historic Schatzalp mountain hotel. During the construction week from July 13th to 17th, anyone interested can participate in this project for at least one day. No prior knowledge, art studies, or perfect handling of power drills is necessary. All you need is curiosity, a love of working together, and the desire to help create something special. What is Art Garden Hotels?
The inaugural Art Garden Hotels exhibition will showcase over 100 artworks in the gardens of Garden Hotels Switzerland from April to November 2026. At 21 locations, visitors will discover works by 30 Swiss artists. The artworks have been specially curated for each hotel garden and blend harmoniously into their surroundings. The selection of artworks is made in collaboration with Bad Ragartz, who provide advisory support for the project. This creates unique open-air galleries – accessible to everyone who enjoys experiencing art outside of traditional museum spaces.
"With Art Garden Hotels, we want to bring art to places where people have the time to truly appreciate it – in gardens, special locations, and surrounded by nature," says Luca Norato. "We are particularly pleased that all 21 garden hotels are participating in the project, including the Schatzalp with two artists and the enriching collaborative construction project."
