Ernst Ludwig Kirchner speaks personally about the subject of photography, reading from his letters. The reading moves from station to station in the exhibition to provide insight into Kirchner's approach to photography. For example, he paid close attention to the quality of printed photographs of his pictures: "I am sending you the promised photographs... The instructions are written on them. And 12 proofs with precise corrections that the printer should follow exactly. The images will definitely not turn out like this. You will see the difference for yourself and agree with me that we have no need for such bland images." There are thoughts on this from Susan Sonntag's famous essay collection "On Photography." She states: "Photography is the only way by which the view of the world can be permanently preserved – and yet every image remains an illusion that attempts to capture the truth." Cost: admission to the exhibition and CHF 5.-
