Solar eclipse on the Jakobshorn

12. August

A partial solar eclipse will take place on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. The last partial solar eclipse of this magnitude occurred on August 11, 1999.

The natural phenomenon can be observed from 7:25 p.m. and reaches its peak at 8:18 p.m., before the sun sets at 8:33 p.m. At this late time, the solar eclipse is best visible from the Jakobshorn mountain in Davos. Due to the rarity of this natural spectacle, the Jakobshorn gondola will run exceptionally between 6:15 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. for all interested parties (pedestrians only).
