Palestine 36

01. July

A densely woven period film about the British colonial history in Palestine

As the villages of the Mandatory region revolt against British colonial rule, Yusuf shuttles between his rural home and the rapidly changing city of Jerusalem, longing for a future beyond the growing unrest. Young Afra tries to maintain her innocence in a family of resilience, and dockworker Khalid is inevitably drawn into the revolt. Annemarie Jacir's new film tells of the individual fates of three people at a turning point in the history of the Palestinian people.
