Waldhotel Davos: Andreas Hofer - wooden sculpture in progress

In our Waldhotel & Art | Culture series, you can experience the local wood sculptor Andreas Hofer at work once a month.

In the outdoor area of the Waldhotel (sunbathing lawn behind the wellness area in summer), the artist will carve a sculpture out of a block of wood using only his chainsaw. The motto the artist has chosen for winter 22/23 is "Favourite Animals". One can be curious about the process of creation. Some of the sculptures can also be purchased.
Meeting point: 5 p.m. behind the wellness area (walk across the car park).

By the way: the various figures that you can see around the Waldhotel and also in many other places in the Davos landscape and throughout Switzerland are also creations of the busy artist.

Tip: Dress warmly, take a mulled wine from the bar outside and look over Hofer's shoulder as he works.
