The writing marathon "For more visibility on Wikipedia" is entering its 14th round with the support of Ringier, the EqualVoice initiative, Wikimedia CH, ETH, and Somedia!
Why do we need an Edit-a-thon?
Women are severely underrepresented on Wikipedia, the world’s largest free encyclopedia – only 18% of all biographies are about women. Many remarkable women* around the globe don’t even have their own Wikipedia entry. We want to change that! Together with our partners, we invite everyone to take part in this writing marathon.
Our Mission
Make more women and their achievements visible on Wikipedia.
Expand existing articles and create new ones.
Raise awareness for gender equity – a task that concerns us all.
