The children enjoy themselves on the illuminated swings while the adults toast with mulled wine or Prosecco – a wonderful way to celebrate the Christmas season! As in previous years, the Montana area near the train station will be elaborately decorated again this December: the centerpiece is the Christmas tree, around which six market stalls and a stage are grouped. Something different takes place there every evening: sometimes fairy tales are told, or there is music – from a cappella choirs and traditional Swiss folk music to pop. The culinary offerings also vary on the nine evenings: local clubs, restaurants, and institutions offer delicacies such as fondue, Chnebeli (a type of Swiss pastry), raclette, lentil chili, crêpes, or waffles.
Icicles grow on the facade
The festivities begin at 4 p.m. each evening. Perfect for ending the day in the snow and meeting up with friends. "The Winter Magic is a fantastic experience every year for all locals and our guests," says Dominik Heeb from Destination Davos Klosters. After nightfall, all eyes turn to the light installations by the artist collective NOA. A highlight is the illuminated facade, where virtual icicles grow, a gingerbread house is created, and a gift factory with gnomes is projected. There's also a light installation featuring squirrels on the grounds, in which visitors can participate.
