Sina Frei is a world champion

Sina Frei remains in top form. Just at the beginning of August, she won gold in both the short track and cross-country events at the Mountain Bike European Championships in Monteceneri. A few weeks later, she doubled her success at the World Cup in Les Gets, again winning both disciplines.

At the World Championships in Val di Sole, Frei initially impressed in the short track, securing the bronze medal. Three days later, she achieved the highlight so far in the cross-country: the world championship title.

In the World Championship race on Sunday, August 30th, Frei took the lead in the first of seven laps and never relinquished it. She steadily increased her advantage and crossed the finish line after 1 hour, 27 minutes, and 50 seconds, more than a minute ahead of Italy's Martina Berta. Bronze also went to Switzerland, with Nicole Koller taking the bronze.
