Davos is known for its HCD, its sports facilities and as a congress venue. Recently also for an aircraft: Because on Whit Monday at 9 p.m., the airline Swiss took delivery of its last A220 aircraft at Zurich Airport. The 30th Airbus with the registration HB-JCU was flown in directly from Mirabel, the Airbus Canada plant in Montreal. Immediately after landing at Zurich Airport, the aircraft was christened "Davos" in the presence of the Davos Landamman, Philipp Wilhelm, the Director/CEO of Destination Davos Klosters, Reto Branschi, Swiss CEO Dieter Vranckx and Swiss pilot and A220 Programme Manager Peter Koch. The new short- and medium-haul aircraft has over 20 per cent lower CO2 emissions than comparable models. It is expected to be used for the first time in Swiss scheduled services on Saturday, 29 May 2021 - flying guests to London. A piece of Davos in the air, so to speak.
