Songbird Festival Davos announces first acts

This year's line-up includes Marc Sway, Dodo Soundsystem and The Gardener and the Tree. Advance ticket sales are underway. Concert tickets are available online in our holiday shop.

Many say that the Songbird Festival Davos is the most beautiful festival in Switzerland. A compliment that makes organiser Michel Pernet happy: ‘Year after year, we put a lot of heart and soul into making sure that not only the artists feel at home, but also our loyal audience. This is the only way to create unique concert evenings.’  And the next edition of Switzerland's largest singer-songwriter festival, which takes place this year from 6 to 21 December 2024, is guaranteed to be just such concert evenings.

A brilliant start
Marc Sway kicks off the festival at the AlpenGold Hotel Davos. Hardly any other musician brings joie de vivre, soul and rhythm to the stage as captivatingly as he does. A cosmopolitan with an unmistakable voice, he masters the language of music as well as that of entertainment.  We continue with Port Polar. Anyone who loves Hecht also loves this band. However, the Winterthur band seem a little fresher and more fresh than the now almost stereotypical Lucerne high-flyers.

A highlight at the end
The final concert also promised to be a great evening. It took a long time. Almost 10 years.  But now the Songbird Festival Davos has succeeded in engaging the most internationally successful Swiss folk-pop band: The Gardener and the Tree. The five guys from Schaffhausen are regarded as the Swiss answer to The Lumineers or Might Oaks and are - undisputedly - one of the best Swiss live bands. They have already been honoured with a ‘Swiss Music Award’, in which they left the highly acclaimed Sophie Hunger behind them.

Traditional festival far from the mainstream
Since 2007, Davos has been transformed into a big stage for promising musical talents and established stars from Switzerland every December. The Songbird Festival Davos has always positioned itself artistically far from the mainstream and has established itself in recent years as the largest and most important festival for Swiss singer-songwriters.
