At the ÖKK Bike Revolution race, the world's elite will meet for the first time in Davos Klosters from July 7 to 9. The new host adds another competition to the Swiss race series, with reigning world champions battling it out for overall victory. Olympic silver medalist Sina Frei can hardly wait to compete next summer: «I'm really looking forward to the race in Davos Klosters. This is where I have my training base and it will therefore be something like a home race for me.»
Event Village with Bike Expo in Davos
At the Swiss race series, not only professionals but also young talents and bike enthusiasts face each other in different categories. On routes with different levels of difficulty, advanced bikers, families and all those who are on a bike for the first time get to know the vacation destination. At the start-finish area, an event village is planned where hobby bikers will meet professionals. The latter can prove their talent during a pumptrack challenge and get information about the latest trends in the sport from equipment suppliers at a bike expo.
A race series for elite and popular sports
Nino Schurter, Olympic mountain bike champion and multiple world champion, launched the Swiss race series together with bike legend Ralph Näf in 2022, with the aim of combining top-level and popular sports as well as promoting young talent. While there have been three events in the competition series in Switzerland so far, Davos Klosters and Engelberg will be added as a fourth and fifth event. "ÖKK Bike Revolution shares the same ideas about the further development of mountain biking and our event formats with Davos, where ideal conditions are available. We are even more pleased that Davos, as one of the up-and-coming mountain bike destinations, will be part of ÖKK Bike Revolution from 2023," says Lorenz Luginbühl, co-founder of ÖKK Bike Revolution.
