Where skiers sat until recently, guests now dine at tables with red and white place settings. The Steinbock restaurant in Klosters has opened a new gondola restaurant on its terrace. Dining in the heated gondolas, suitable for up to four persons, is designed to match the atmosphere. For example, cheese fondue specialties are on the menu until the end of March. In Davos, the new «Bistro» National, in the hotel of the same name, is now offering Italian dishes. The winter pop-up, «Secret Mountain,» is also in the spotlight in Davos.
Polar Station with pop-up restaurant in DavosThis winter village looks like an arctic polar station and will open on December 15, around the natural ice rink of the Seehofseeli. This goes along with «Stachi's Chalet», a temporary restaurant, which puts itself on the culinary map with Swiss classics. In addition, outdoor bars, lounges, food containers and a clubhouse, with live music in the evenings, are being created.
Vegetarian and vegan gastro scene hots upThe menu cards are also surprising: In the «1908» restaurant of the newly renovated «Alpine Inn Davos» hotel, Swiss classics form the theme of the menu. In addition, the new concept of host Annina Hotz and chef David Svarc includes vegetarian and vegan dishes. Society is changing, and gastronomy with it, as can be seen from the example of the second «Kaffeeklatsch» on the Promenade. Not far from the ice rink, owner Svea Meyer started a new chapter in November, with vegetarian cuisine. In addition to the restaurants, a new café is also enriching Davos' gastronomic scene. «Da Bubble Tea and Coffee» recently opened at Promenade 63, and the name says it all.
