The sculpture, created in 2016, belongs to a group of works that the artist Not Vital dedicates to portraits. The artworks do without clear facial features. Instead, they are characterised by a high degree of abstraction. Through the polished and shiny surfaces, the environment is reflected and transformed in the artwork Head. The viewers thus become part of the sculpture. This play with reflections is reminiscent of Vital's chrome steel portrait by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, which has been on display at the Kirchner Museum Davos since 2019. If you want to linger a little longer in Kirchner Park, make yourself comfortable on one of the Vitra design chairs. The visit to this open-air exhibition is free of charge.
