Sina Frei enjoyed a perfect weekend at the Mountain Bike European Championships in Monteceneri. The Davos Klosters ambassador secured the European title in the Short Track on Friday and followed it up with gold in the Cross-Country over the Olympic distance on Sunday.
In the Short Track, the 29-year-old prevailed against the competition after a decisive attack in the final phase, leading a Swiss one-two finish ahead of Alessandra Keller. Two days later, Frei impressively confirmed her strong form: In the Cross-Country race, she took the lead at the halfway point, steadily increased her advantage, and confidently won her second European title within three days. Alessandra Keller once again completed the Swiss one-two finish with the silver medal.
After her first title, Frei said: "I grew up on this course, I have many memories associated with it, and now I have another one – a beautiful one." She emphatically confirmed this strong performance on Sunday with her second European title.
We warmly congratulate our ambassador Sina Frei on this great success and look forward to the remaining races of the season.
