The epidemiological situation allows the ski areas in Davos Klosters to remain open until the end of the winter season. However, restaurants (with the exception of take-away services) and the ski terraces in the ski areas are currently closed. The first relaxations, such as the opening of shops, museums and other leisure facilities, have been in force since 1 March.

- Restrictions in public life and first prospects of liberation
The epidemiological situation allows the ski areas in Davos Klosters to remain open until the end of the winter season. However, restaurants (except take-away services) and indoor leisure facilities are currently closed. Shops selling non-daily consumer goods are also closed. The first relaxations, such as the opening of shops, museums and other leisure facilities, will follow from 1 March.
Restaurants throughout Switzerland are currently closed. Take-away operations, including in ski resorts, remain permitted. However, the ski terraces will have to close again as of 1 March.
Guests are still not allowed indoors. In addition, terraces in ski resorts must close again from Friday evening, 26 February.First relaxation as of 1 March 2021
The Federal Council presented its opening schedule on 17 February. Shops, museums, zoos and leisure facilities are to reopen from 1 March. Outdoors, private events for up to 15 people are to be permitted again from 1 March. The next opening step is scheduled for 22 March, with consultation of the cantons starting on 12 March and the Federal Council's decision on 19 March.Compulsory wearing of masks outdoors to be dropped
Against the background of the Federal Council's relaxation, the protection concept will also be adapted in Davos. In view of the rising test rate and the holiday season coming to an end, stricter communal regulations regarding protective masks in public outdoor areas are to be dropped as of 1 March. Instead, the general rules of the federal government will apply again, as is the case in the vast majority of municipalities. Thus, for example, the mask obligation will continue to apply in public traffic and everywhere where the minimum distance of one and a half metres cannot be maintained. The obligation to wear protective masks remains in force in the queuing areas of the mountain railways and on the grounds of Davos schools. - Safe travel destination
Guests from countries with an increased risk of infection: Negative test and quarantine upon entry
In future, visitors from countries with an increased risk of infection must present a negative PCR test no more than 72 hours old on entry. They will then be placed in quarantine. This can also be shortened with a negative test on the 7th day.
Persons arriving by plane from countries that do not belong to the risk areas must present a negative test upon entry. The check is carried out when boarding the aircraft.
The quarantine and entry rules decided by the Federal Council require an adjustment of the relevant Covid 19 ordinances. They will come into force on 8 February 2021
Departures to the United Kingdom (UK) and South Africa possible again
Passenger flights from Switzerland to the UK and South Africa are no longer restricted. Special protective measures will apply to passengers in quarantine. For transport to airports, the necessary protective measures are ensured to minimise the epidemiological risk during internal transfers. The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) coordinates with the cantons to ensure this special transfer. To carry out the flights, the airlines are required to comply with the existing sanitary protection concepts. - Very important now: Hygiene & behavioural measures

Why guests can look forward to skiing holidays in Davos Klosters despite protective measures?
The key word is distance. Davos Klosters offers six ski areas and thus enough space for relaxing days on the slopes. Because we have so many mountains to choose from, the queues are never as long as in other destinations. There is no danger of density stress down in the valley either: our side valleys are ideal for relaxed winter walks or snowshoe tours and our free network of cross-country ski trails makes us one of the largest cross-country skiing areas in the Alps. Especially for the coming winter we are currently revising our guest programme and offer many new Corona-compatible offers.
Have the service providers on site prepared themselves well?
The big unknown is the development of the pandemic. But mountain railways, hotels, restaurants, event organisers and ski schools have prepared themselves very thoroughly for the winter season. Their protection concepts are there to ensure that people in Davos Klosters feel safe and can still enjoy their holidays.
What does this mean in concrete terms for the mountain railways?
The mountain railways run continuously so that as few people as possible come together in the waiting areas and cabins. There are also special cleaning measures for seats, handrails and toilets. Among other things, cold foggers are used for this purpose, which eliminate 99.99 percent of all viruses, bacteria and spores on surfaces in a lift cabin in just one minute. As in all public transport, masks are compulsory in the stations and cabins, as well as on the lifts.
What will be different for guests this winter?
What guests will probably have to do without this winter is enjoy a lively après-ski party with no minimum distance. But the summer has shown that guests understand this and Davos Klosters has a lot to offer even without that.
- Regulations for tickets and seasonal tickets
Capacities on the mountain
The capacities at Davos Klosters Mountains are limited over the festive season and the sale of day tickets may be restricted. Due to the limited capacity of 2/3, there may be longer waiting times. Please book your ticket in advance online directly to your keycard and note the free capacities at the mountain on the website.Annual tickets (TopCard and season pass for locals)
In the event of an officially mandatory closure of all Davos Klosters Mountains (subscription for locals) and the entire TopCard area (for TopCard holders) as a result of a pandemic, Davos Klosters Bergbahnen AG will grant the following entitlement for tickets purchased from them:(price paid for the subscription x days lost for the subscription)/260 operating days
- Prerequisite: The entire validity area of the 2020/21 subscription is affected by the closure. In the case of TopCard, all three areas Davos Klosters, Flims Laax and Arosa Lenzerheide must be affected by the closure.
- Basis for the calculation of the days lost: 260 operating days
- Days lost due to the date of purchase are not included in the calculation.
- The entitlement will be granted in the form of a credit note when the next subscription is purchased in 2021/22.
- This rule applies exclusively to subscriptions 2020/21, already purchased and new purchases.
Day tickets and regional passes (several days)
- Day tickets: Unused day tickets will be refunded 100 percent.
- Regional passes (several days): In the case of tickets lasting several days, the days that cannot be redeemed will be refunded. For the amount of the refund, the refund rates defined in the General Terms and Conditions of Davos Klosters Bergbahnen AG apply.
- Condition: The entire validity area of the ticket is affected (in the case of regional passes, closure of all mountain railways). If only one mountain is affected, the ticket will be transferred to another open mountain.
- This regulation applies exclusively to tickets for the winter season 2020/21 via the online shop of Davos Klosters Bergbahnen AG, for purchases at the ticket offices or via third parties such as hotels.
What regulations apply to other official orders such as quarantine?
In the event of official orders, for example for quarantine, no ski passes will be refunded. In the event of illness, the General Terms and Conditions and refund claims apply upon presentation of a medical certificate. We recommend that you take out travel insurance.

Which events and activities are prohibited?
All events with more than 50 people and sporting and cultural leisure activities with more than 15 people are prohibited. Exceptions are parliamentary and municipal assemblies. Political demonstrations and the collection of signatures for referenda and initiatives are also possible.
