The construction work on the first stage of the rehabilitation of the Gotschnatunnel was completed earlier than planned. The Klosters bypass has been open again since 17 June.
The 4.2 km long Gotschnatunnel, the centrepiece of the Klosters ring road, will be rehabilitated in 2019 and 2020. The first construction phase was completed more than ten days before the deadline scheduled for 4 July 2019. From 7 October to probably 13 December 2019, the tunnel and the bypass around Klosters will be closed for the second construction stage. Traffic will then be diverted through Klosters again. The third and final construction phase is scheduled for 30 March to 12 June 2020.
