Your cross-country skis are waxed and waiting for the first snow contact? In Davos Klosters you will be able to do your first laps on the Flüela trail from 26 October 2019.
On Saturday, 26 October 2019, a four-kilometre cross-country ski trail will open in the Flüela Valley in Davos. This is due to what is known as 'snowfarming' - the overnight summering of snow. In late winter, a heap of snow is covered with sawdust. The covering of the pile of snow preserves approx. 80% of the snow which is now used for the preparation of the cross-country ski trails. The Flüela cross-country trail is demanding and is primarily suitable for experienced cross-country skiers. If you run in a team, you need to make an appointment in advance.
Training like the pros
On the circuit the professionals of the Swiss national team as well as top athletes of other cross-country skiing nations train. This is why the Snowfarming trail is reserved for competitive athletes at certain times of the day. As a contribution to the cost of this additional offer, a fee will be charged for the use of the Snowfarming trail in November. As of December and as soon as other trails are open, the entire network of trails will be available free of charge.
