The learning opportunities in Davos have been gradually expanded over the years. Davos has two secondary schools. The Swiss Alpine Secondary School Davos (SAMD) and the Swiss Sports Secondary School Davos (SSGD). More schools and courses complete the Davos education offer.

College Courses

The health resort boasts a glorious past in the area of revolutionary thinking. In 1921, the sculptor Philipp Modrow developed plans to open a college for women where the language of instruction would be Esperanto. However, his plans never materialized. The Davos College Courses program proved to be enormously successful. In March 1928, Albert Einstein held a speech inaugurating the first conference which brought together top scientists from all over the globe.

Swiss Text Academy

The Swiss Text Academy is a federally funded foundation. Its goal is to promote the use of correct German language in the fields of business and economy. The Academy offers continuing education classes for professionals in the fields of communication and creative writing. The first course with an academic degree is the «dipl. PR-Redaktor (NDK)»; further post-graduate studies are planed.

Vocational Therapeutic Massage College Davos (BMMD)

The Vocational Therapeutic Massage College Davos (BMMD) is a private public health college which is recognized on a state and federal level and is managed and supported by physicians. Its supervisory authority is the Canton Graubünden. BMMD is an important Swiss vocational medical college and provides classes in the field of therapeutic massage therapy. BMMD is the only Swiss massage therapy school which offers an EU recognized diploma course that prepares students for continuing education in the field of physical therapy. The school offers nationally recognized full-time or part-time courses.
